This study was to investigate work morale and selected factors related to work morale of dentists in General Hospitals, the Ministry of Public Health. A sample was 204 dentists who were selected by stratified random sampling from 409 dentists in General Hospitals around the country. Data were collected by mailing questionnaires during 16-24 September 2004 and analyzed by percentage, mean, ~iSD~i, Pearson's Product Moment Correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The results were as follows: 1. Dentists evaluated their recognition, work itself, responsibility, advancement, wages and welfare, interpersonal relationship, job security and supervision at moderate level, but work morale was at high level. 2. Personal factors : sex had no significant correlation with work morale, age and tenure had significant positive correlation with work morale at 0.01 level and position rank had positive significant correlation with work morale at 0.05 level. Motivation factors : recognition, work itself, responsibility and advancement had significant positive correlation with work morale at 0.01 level. Hygiene factors : interpersonal relationship and job security had significant positive correlation with work morale at 0.01 level but wages and welfare and supervision had no significant correlation with work morale. 3. Work itself, tenure and age were three predictor variables with 26.3 percent (R = 0.467, 0.237 and 0.181) of work morale which constructed regression equation in raw score as follows: Y = 43.216 + 0.884X₁ + 0.443X₂ - 0.313X₃Where : Y = Work morale, X₁ = Work itself, X₂ = Tenure, X₃= Age
