Abstract/Problem Statement: Dedicated offering to Buddhist monks has been practiced since the Buddha period. The extent of giving the dedicated offerings vary. Some people offer money; others may offer Buddhist garment, such as, robes inner garment or Buddhist monks' basic necessities. Giving dedicated offerings to Buddhist monks comes from a Buddhist belief that giving brings happiness to the givers and giving is dedicated to their deceased parents and their loved ones. Making dedicated offerings differs in sizes and management. The purpose of the study was threefold. 1) To study the historical background of dedicated offerings for Buddhist monks. 1) To examine the current situations and problems utilizing folk wisdom of dedicated offerings to Buddhist monks for Isan community economic enhancement. 3) To draw up a guideline for conservation and development of folk wisdom of dedicated offerings for Isan community economic enhancement. Approach: The areas where the study took place were Ban Kuddang and Ban Santisuk, Tambon Naso, Amphoe Kudchum, Yasothon Province and Ban Nongkham- Nongwang, Tambon Konoy, Amphoe Samrong, Ubon Ratchatani Province. Results: 1) The historical background of the dedicated offerings for Buddhist monks was provided by the sample living in the 3 villages. The tradition of giving dedicated offerings to Buddhist monks went back as far as the Buddha period and then passed it down to later generations. 2) The current situations and problems of using folk wisdom of dedicated offerings for Buddhist monks and Isan community economic enhancement indicated similarities and differences in packaging, cost prices, and management. 3) A guideline for conservation and development of folk wisdom of dedicated offerings for Buddhist monks and Isan community economic enhancement included making a handbook containing information of the products; arranging classes teaching school children how to make dedicated offerings for Buddhist monks, local favorite dishes, environmental conservation, and promotion of community economy. On the development of folk wisdom and Isan community economic enhancement, the study proposed training workshops, product model development, community economic development, setting multi-organizations, and network, and environmental development. Conclusion/Recommendation: In conclusion, it was indicated that a conservation and development of folk wisdom to making dedicated offerings for the enhancement of Isan community economy could generate income and sustainable development amidst social and cultural changing context.
