The Objective of this research was to compare factorsaffecting. News reporting of Thai Daily and WeeklyNewspapers in case of Smugglers. This research exam thepresentation of the news, the importance of News based onits content and the view point of News reporters. Depthinterview of relavant personal and content analysis wereundertaken from Thai-daily and Thai-weekly Newspapers i.e.SIAMRAT weekly, LUKTHAI, THAIRAT, MATICHON. The news beingstudied convers the range of 3 years including 3 cases:

Narong's case from 3 April-10 May 1992, Thanong's case from11 May-15 December 1995 and Vathana's case from 8September-23 December 1995. The results are as follows. 1. The same problems and found in investigativereporting of both Thai Daily and weekly Newspaper which areeconomic, Social and Culture factors. 2. Both Thai daily and weekly newspapers presented thenews in much the same way and treated the news equallyinterms of its importance. 3. It was found that the same problems affectInvestigative News reporting of Thai dialy and weeklyNewspaper. There problems arose from Political, Economic,Social and Culture factors.
