The purpose of this research is to analyze the citations in research report of the Faculty of Medicine Staff, Chiang Mai University. The population in this study consisted of 388 research reports published in the period 2009 to 2010 from 21 departments by amount, types, scope of content, age, language and compare documents that are available in the library. The tool of this research is record form. Statistics used for data analysis included frequency and percentage. After that, the researcher developed a citation analysis database. The tools used in the development of the program include PHP and MySQL. The results showed the total amount of citations was 10,355 items. Journals were having most frequently cited equal to 95.57 percent with the journal title “Gynecologic Oncology” being the most cited, content scope of research were the most frequently cited in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Next most frequent cited was books 2.90 percent, Title “Field’s virology” with content in Microbiology. Other materials cited were 0.98 percent, website and The Cochrane Library database. Language in research report were the most frequently cited in English and age of publications in research report most frequently cited 0-5 years. By comparing the documents available in the library and the documents in research report library resources covered 77.80 percent of documents
