The objective of this research is to study the opinion of the prevention and suppression police officers on appropriate arrangement of patrol in the metropoltian area the problems and obstacles. The strategy of providing the patrols in this research, The data are collected from 348 policemen of prevention an suppression police officers specific duty in patrol in the metropolitan area. Questionnaires are used for data collection The results of the study are summarized as follows. Problems and obstacles in providing every kind of patrols are deprived of essential instruments,such as, automobiles, motor cycles fird arms (guns), signal supplies, flash lights, and hand-cuff. Suitable varieties of patrols should be as followings Auto patrols: the auto patrol officers should be twelve for each police station and six auto patrol officers should be divided into three turns with two auto patrols each turn, and supervised by commissioned police officer. Motor-cycle patrol: Each police station should have 28 patrolmen and 12 motor-cycles which are divided into 5 motor-cycles each turn. Walking Patroling: Each police station should provide walking patroling not less than 14 men by taking a turn to patrol 7 men each turn. The conditions of auto patrol, motor cycle patrol,and walking patrol are resemble to that for frequent occuring crime zone such patrol would be made at crowded area, walking patrol should greet people at shops and houses along the road, and known people in the community ,provide information around in order to prevent crimes. Commissioned police officers should be assigned at every police booth. Recommendations 1. There would be development of patroling administration in every way such as,training patrolmen in order to have more abities of assigned duties along with readiness of both physical and mind in decision of the encountered problems,encountering assigned patrols including knowledge of administralion, preparation of patrolmen by considering. The difference and neccessily of individual zone,and conditions of planed patrol based on connected precepts. 2. Increasing patrolmen to every kind of patroling, especially to walking patrol and motor-cycle patrol which could patrol around the alleys and lanes. 3. Increasing benefits of welfares, for instances premium of overtime,and extra operations. 4. Providing budgets of ordination in case of relieved duties for patrolmen, for police station, and for people and parolman in the zone. 5. There would he rewards for patrolmen who do outstanding tasks in the superintendent, commanding, head quarter levels.
