Environmental educators has played a crucial role of leadership to support, promote and develop the ethics of sustainably living together, and to assist in changing the attitude of people to pay more attention on environmental issues. This research aimed to study the factors of attributes of environmental educators, to develop an environmental education program to promote the attributes of environmental educators through trainings, and to compare the results from the promotion of attributes of environmental educators of the students. The sample used in the research was first, second, third and fourth year students of Environmental Technology, Environment and Resources Management, and Environmental Education Programs, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahasarakham University. It was divided into 2 groups. First group was the sample of 596 students used in the study about the factors of attributes of environmental educators. Second group consisted of 16 students in the experimental group and 16 students in the controlled group. The experimental group was the students of Environmental Education Program who were at the low level of average score from the questionnaire about the attributes of environmental educators in first phase of the survey, and were willing to gain the promotion of attributes of environmental educators. The controlled group was the students of Environmental Education with normal learning and teaching management. The tools used in the research were a questionnaire about the attributes of environmental educators with the discrimination between.4031-.7997 and the reliability of.8769, and the environmental education program with the appropriateness at the highest level. The statistics used to analyze data comprised confirmatory factor analysis with LISREL Program, and two-way repeated measure and three-factor mixed ANOVA. The research results revealed that 1) the confirmatory factor analysis model for the attributes of environmental educators consisted of 4 areas of factor: ability to be an environmental educator, knowing the process of environmental knowledge transfer, practice of environmental knowledge transfer, and management of environmental knowledge. The model fit in relation to the empirical data and the standard factor weight was at the high level with statistical significance at the level of.05. The factors of attributes of environmental educators could be measured. 2) The environmental education program to promote the attributes of environmental educators comprised 3 stages. They were beginning stage as a motivation period, promotion stage as a guiding period, and conclusion as a skill construction period. The learning theories and training techniques were applied into the promotion of attributes of environmental educators. 3) The attributes of environmental educators of the students in experimental group after the experiment and the follow-up were higher than those before the experiment with statistical significance at the level of.05. 4) The attributes of environmental educators of the students in experimental group obtained from the results of measurements in different periods of time, both in general and in individual factors, were different with statistical significance at the level of.05. The attributes of environmental educators of the students in controlled group obtained from the measurements in different periods of time, both in general and in individual factors, were not different.
