The research was aimed to propose competency factors and indicators for the administrators of private vocational schools in Thailand. The mixed methodology was used with a research process divided into 4 stages: 1) determining the conceptual framework for competency factors using the content analysis and verifying the accuracy of competency factors using a focus group technique by 10 experts; 2) studying competency factors and indicators for the administrators of private vocational schools in Thailand using the indepth interview technique by 10 experts; 3) analyzing competency factors and indicators for the administrators of private vocational schools in Thailand using the exploratory factor analysis technique; and 4) criticizing and confirming the feasibility and propriety of the competency factors and indicators for the administrators of private vocational schools in Thailand using the expert group meeting technique by 15 experts. It was found that the competency factors and indicators for the administrators of private vocational schools in Thailand consisted of 10 factors and 59 indicators and they are novel findings which could be used as the criteria for administrator's recruitment for private vocational schools in Thailand. © EuroJournals Publishing, Inc. 2011.
