As a result of the agreement between the countries in the Mekong Subregion and ASEAN, transport infrastructure and logistics has been connected. This leads to increase in the development of trade and economics. This research aims to review the studies of logistics and supply chain at macro level in the North-East of Thailand, in order to conclude and synthesise knowledge and research issues in the future for development of logistics and supply chain towards ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The study focuses on three main areas; including: (1) capabilities of logistics and supply chain in the North-East of Thailand, (2) rules and regulations agreement, and (3) development of transport infrastructures and services. The finding on the capabilities of logistics and supply chain in the region is concluded that the transport infrastructure linkage will reduce logistics cost and increase trade and investment. The economics in overall will increase. However, further studies are needed; including: fairness of economic distribution, problems in present and the future, capability of business sector in the regional, particularly the provinces that are on the transport corridors. The finding on rules and regulations agreement is concluded that the most of previous research are for evaluating the progress of economic development and for preparing to cooperate in the agreement, as well as for reducing barriers in economic linkage. However, it is still lack of study on political economy, and lack of various research methodology e.g. econometric analysis. Moreover, database in the international level is limited, particularly database on rules and regulations in transport sector which are different among countries. The finding on development of infrastructure and transport services is concluded that there are a number of studies on development and construction planning in the NorthEast of Thailand to connect with the other regions in Thailand and the Mekong region. However, further studies are needed in details; for example: study and analysis for integrating plans and projects among different organisations; study of types of goods, quantity and transport routes for different transport modes between countries in the future; and study of management of transport infrastructures and services for integrated transport modes in order to increase effectiveness, safety, and social and environmental friendliness
