| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | There appears to be associations that can be made across a number of different sensory modalities, however recent research into the associations human beings make between sounds and tastes, has uncovered the existence of a potential sound symbolic relationship. The importance of sound symbolism has been linked to theories concerning the origins and evolution of language, an area of research that has recently seen dramatic advances in the way empirical evidence can be collected in the laboratory. Here, an experiment is presented that aims to investigate how structure and even sound symbolic features may emerge from the cultural transmission of a sound-taste language, by using the human iterated learning model. The experiment shows that in order to make the language learnable, the language adapts to become systematically structure, in addition to this certain sound symbolic features emerge as part of this structure. |
