| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | The present research explores collective guilt in the context of the financial crisis and the Occupy Movement. News interviews with protestors and bankers are analysed discursively, along with a parliamentary hearing into the use of bailout funds by leading U.S. banks. Using discursive psychology, we can see how collective responsibility can be manipulated in different ways for different purposes. This study identifies the various discursive devices used by some protestors to justify the protest and any blaming they may do in the process. It also examines how bankers presented themselves in a favourable light with regards to the economic crisis and in doing so, fended off blame. |
