The 30th Annual Conference of the ANZCMHN has been and gone. I am confident that the 270 (approximately) delegates who attended would agree that it was undoubtedly a huge success. Kerin O’Brien and his colleagues on the organising committee are to be heartily congratulated for putting together an event that included a high quality scientific program and ample opportunity for networking via the very important social program. The inclusion of the ‘hypothetical’ was an innovative addition to the workshops, keynote addresses, concurrent sessions and poster displays traditionally associated with annual conferences. As an admirer of Geoffrey Robertson’s work, being able to secure his services was very impressive indeed. No doubt considerable effort and negotiation was involved, not only for Geoffrey himself, but to put together such an impressive panel, representing so many aspects of the mental health service system from a broad clinical, social and political perspective. Well done to all involved!
