Staying abreast of change in the modern world takes a certain disposition and readiness to accept and explore new possibilities. Changes in society as a result of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the last twenty years have created radical new opportunites in all levels of our society. Education is no exception, and although reforms continue in this field, the uptake of the use of ICT in schools and teacher education is slow. For this uptake to be enhanced, universities need to become part of the innovation around the use of ICT in schools. University-based teacher educators claim that partnerships between universities and schools are critical to facilitate a meaningful teacher education program. This paper describes one initiative to bring together two significant partners in teacher education in a collaborative project that proposes benefits for all stakeholders
