| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | Given the pace and nature of change in the pattern of immigration in the postwar period which has, in turn, led to significant changes in the demographic characteristics of Australia's population, I began an inquirey into how Central Queensland compares with state and national trends. The perception most people have of Central Queensland is that the region has no migrants and lack of previous research into ethnic communities in the region has reinforced this notion (Nwe, 1996). My findings indicate that not only are there immigrants in Central Queensland at the present time, but the trend for the future is towards greater, rather than less, diversity of the regional population. |
