บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย :

"Wafer fabrication is a very long and complex manufacturing process where multiple layers of chemical films are microscopically constructed and patterned to form intricate electronic devices. Each of the layers, both underneath and above the wafer surface, is formed through a series of processing steps, many of which are repeated several times at the other layers. In those repeating steps, the equipments, being very expensive, are not replicated, but rather revisited by the wafers for processing at different device layers. This type of manufacturing system is called a re-entrant line1 which is regarded as one of the most complicated manufacturing systems. Having only one equipment per each type of processing steps, TMEC is considered a very good example of a highly re-entrant line. Added to the challenge is the fact that TMEC runs multiple process flows in small batches (high-mix, low-volume2). In this type of environment, the only production control method that seems logical to start with is the manual JIT (Just-in-Time). This report discusses about the development and deployment of the TMEC Operation Report System V1.0 as a tool to aid in the management of the TMEC production system. The system takes full advantage of the real-time data acquisition feature in the TMEC Runcard System V1.0 which has also been fully deployed2. It retrieves the real-time operation data from all the product lots through their RUNCARD. Then, it organizes and presents the data in a customized format that facilitates a manual JIT session. The system has been proven robust in reporting up-to-date and accurate operation data. It has been tested against reporting 30 simulated product lots simultaneously with no fault. It has been fully deployed and used as a communication tool by more than 50 TMEC staffs who are involved directly and indirectly with the TMEC production system. For two full months, it has been used for TMEC daily operation meeting where key personnel meets to brainstorm and dispatch the daily production plan. /Wafer fabrication is a very long and complex manufacturing process where multiple layers of chemical films are microscopically constructed and patterned to form intricate electronic devices.
