| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | The purposes of this research were to investigate the effects of students child-rearing practices and sexes on their achievement motive and the interaction of sexes and types of child-rearing practice. The subjects were 505 Mathayom Suksa III students who were randomly selected from the high schools in Songkhla Province. There were two instruments used in this study. The first was an achievement motive test which consisted of six factors of achievement motive : aspiration, energetic, moderate risk-taking, individual responsibility, planning and characteristic uniqueness. The second instrument was a parents child-rearing practice questionnaire which consisted of three types of child-rearing practices : democratic, autocratic and laissez-faire. The ANOVA and MANOVA 2 x 3 (sexes x types of child-rearing practice) were employed in analyzing the data. The results were as follows: 1. The achievement motive of the students in the Democratic Group was higher than that of the students in the Autocratic and the Laissez-Faire Groups with a statistical significance at the .01 level. 2. The achievement motives of the students in the Autocratic and the Laissez-Faire Groups were not different 3. The six factors of the achievement motive of the students in the Democratic Group were higher than those of the students in the Autocratic and the Laissez-Faire Groups with a statistical significance at the .01 level. 4. All factors of achievement motive of the students in the Autocratic and Laissez-Faire Groups were not different. 5. The achievement motive of the female students was higher than that of male students with a statistical significance at the 6. Among the six factors of the achievement motive, five factors of the female students were higher than those of the male students with a statistical significance at the .01 level. Only one factor of moderate risk-taking was not different. 7. There was no interaction betwen sexes and types of child-rearing practice on the achievement motive. 8. There was no interaction between sexes and types of child-rearing practice on the six factors of the achievement motive. |
