The objectives of this research were to study the knowledge and opinions of the monks in Chang Wat Chiang Mai regarding the monument conservation and the factors influencing the monks knowledge and opinions. This research was carried out by applying the simple random sampling over the monastories with registered monuments. The samples obtained by the simple random sampling were totally 223 from 33 tamples. The statistics applied in analysis were percentage, mean and standard deviation and those used in hypothesis test comprised of t-test as well as F-test. The result of the research was that Chiang Mais monks had average knowledge in monument conservation and positive opinion on it, whereas the hypothesis test indicated that the factors influencing the monks knowledge were age, general education, domicile and information sources of monument conservation. Various sources of information on monument conservation were also found to be influenced the monks opinions.
