The purposes of this independent study were to develop lesson plans of writing ~i"Klon Si"~i(a poem of four verses) for Prathom Suksa 4 students and to study the outcomes of using those lesson plans. The sample included 10 Prathom Suksa 4 students, studying in the second semester in Academic Year 2002 at Ban Ton Phueng School, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province. The instruments used for gathering data were 13 lesson plans of writing ~i"Klon Si"~iand a poetry writing achievement test. The data were analyzed by computing means, percentages and then were presented in tables with explanations. In addition, students' pieces of work from those task were analyzed with descriptive analysis method. The finding of the study were as follows: 1. Those 13 lesson plans of writing ~i"Klon Si"~i consisted of 4 tasks of teaching procedures.Those were analogous writing, writing lyrics of thought, writing rhymes and writing complete~i"Klon Si"~i poetry. Contents about things in their surroundings and impressive stories were composed with simple and short words and then writing with cluster words, phrases and sentences were practiced. Finally, grammatical rules and writing in "~iKlon Si~i" unit of rhyme schemes were trained. 2. The outcomes of using those lesson plans were found that students achieved at very welllevel with 83.00 percentage of average scores. Their achievement of analogous writing, writinglyrics of thoughts and writing complete ~i"Klon Si"~i poetry were very well, except writingrhymes which was at good level. Moreover, according to the analysis of their work pieces, itwas found that the students were comprehend and able to write ~i"Klon Si"~i poetry. Theywere trained in sequence of analogous writing, writing lyrics of thought, writing rhymes and correctly writing in ~i"Klon Si"~i unit of rhyme schemes, at last.
