The purpose of this research were to study nursing management in the aspects ofplanning, organizing, directing and controlling of head nurses in the economic crisissituation, Regional Hospitals and Medical Centers and to compare nursing managementclassified by educational level, experiences in management, nursing managementtraining and leadership of head nurses. Samples were 287 head nurses and 861professional nurses, who were subordinate of each head nurses at least one year,selected by stratified random sampling. The instruments were nursing management ofhead nurses in the economic crisis situation questionnaire and head nurses'leadership questionnaire. The instruments were tested for content validity and thereliability were .98 and .96 Statistical methods used in data analysis included mean,standard deviation, F-test, t-test and Kruskal-Wallis test. The major findings were as follows: 1. Nursing management of head nurses in the economic crisis situation includedplanning, organizing, directing and controlling were depended on quality of nursingservice, economize, reduce cost, increase income, efficiency, effectiveness,appropriate use of resource and consider of the necessity. 2. Nursing management of head nurses in the economic crisis situation in allaspects were at high level, and in each aspect it was found that planning,organizing, directing and controlling were also in the high level. 3. Head nurses who had higher educational level than bachelor degree had highernursing management in the economic crisis situation than those with diploma andsignificant at .05 level. 4. Head nurses classified by experiences in management, nursing managementtraining and level of leadership, performed no different nursing management in theeconomic crisis situation.
