The objective of this research is to locate fruitexport center and its network in the Eastern Regioncomposing of 55 districts and 8 sub-districts inChonburi, Chachoengsao, Rayong, Nakhon Nayok,Chanthaburi, Trat, Prachin Buri, and Sa Kaeo. In theresearch, following concepts are studied in order todefine 9 factors for analyzing the proper locations offruit export center and its network: economicdevelopment by agricultural goods export, economic basetheory, weakness of agricultural product, location ofagricultural activities theory,orientation andagglomeration economies, and a research concerning thefruit export center. The defined factors are location,transportation, fruit market center, communication,facilities, people federation of agriculturalists,wholesalers and exporters, cold storage service,packaging and transport service, and official serviceand finance. The methods for analyzing the locations of fruitexport center and its network are 1) prioritizing thefactors by the statistic method of Average PercentageWeighting 2) calculating standard score for data baseadjustment and 3) locating the center and its networkby grouping the districts according to the standardscore while the standard and criteria of the center andnetwork are also taken into consideration. The results of the research show that two fruitexport centers which provide one stop service should beestablished in the Eastern Region. The fruit exportcenter for durians, mangosteens and rambutans should beestablished in Tha Mai District while The export centerfor mangoes and pomeloes should be established in BangKhla District. Six export points should be located inMuang Rayong, Klaeng, Khlung, Muang Trat, Muang PrachinBuri, and Sri Racha. The export port by airfreightshould be located at U-Taphao Airport while the seaports should be located at Laem Chabang and Sattahib.The land transport service should be provided by theprivate sector at the fruit export center. Fourgovernment authorities that should play the role ofFruit Export Coordinating Center are the ProductionDevelopment for Fruits and Vegetables and PostharvestControl for Export Center in Muang Chanthaburi and inPlaengyao, the Eastern Export Promotion Center in MuangChanthaburi, and the Foreign Trade Office at SattahibPort in Sri Racha.
