| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | Effects of sulfur compounds on catalytic reforming ofn-hexane using commercial platinum-rhenium/alumina catalystwas investigated in this study. The experiments wereconducted in a fixed-bed reactor at a temperature of 450(+,ฐ)C,a pressure of 100 psig and a hydrogen to hydrocarbon moleratio of 6. Sulfur compounds were added directly to thefeedstock to make solutions containing 10 part per millionof sulfur as sulfur compounds. Chemicals used to representsulfur compounds were carbon disulfide, methyl disulfide,methyl sulfide, ethyl sulfide and thiophene. The results showed that addition of sulfur compoundsto the feedstock affected catalytic reforming of n-hexane.Conversions of n-hexane and methylcyclopentane weredecreased. Weight percents of isomer products and benzenewere also decreased. In contrast, weight percents ofcracking products and higher aromatics were increased.Sulfur compounds in this study were reversible poisons. Thepoisoning effects of sulfur compounds on n-hexane reformingdepended upon the nature and type of sulfur compounds asfollows: i) ethyl sulfide (straight chain) had strongereffect than thiophene (cyclic), ii) no difference onn-hexane reforming was observed between methyl sulfide (1sulfur atom) and methyl disulfide (2 sulfur atoms), iii)ethyl sulfide (4 carbon atoms) had stronger effect thanmethyl sulfide (2 carbon atoms), iv) carbon disulfide (1carbon atom) had stronger effect than methyl disulfide (2carbon atoms). |
