- Sadao border is the most important gateway of Thailand to ASEAN. The preliminary study found that significant amount of cargoes and passengers crossing border are increasing annually. The Department of Customs is responsible for the buildings, facilities and land area. The Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) are jointly and coordinated for the border management. The Department of Labor maintains a unit of official to oversee and facilitate the Thai labors seeking employment abroad. The current partial of land site is under appropriation for new office and facilities extension. The border stakeholders are satisfied moderately with management of trade services rendered by CIO. An impediment of Sadao border management is the insufficience of personnel. The CIQ is working separately and could not integrate the National Single Window (NSW) as planned. In order to streamline of Sadao border management and aiming for international standard practices, hence, trade facilitation must be improved while monitoring the national security at border. Sadao border management proposed by the research team that the government should establish a central or national office to oversee the management of border, budget allocation and delegation of power to provincial governor in line with national policies, aiming at work efficiency. Forecast factors effecting on ASEAN Economic Community toward the management of Sadao border management are the following patterns: national border management, personnel management and the structure of border management respectively.
