โครงการวิจัยนี้นำเสนอการออกแบบอัลกอริธึมเครื่องรับสัญญาณแบบปรับตัวได้ (Adaptive Receive Algorithms) สำหรับระบบซีดีเอ็มเอแบบแถบความถี่กว้าง (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) หรือ WCDMA ซึ่งเป็นมาตรฐานเการเชื่อมต่อทางอากาศ (Air Interface) แบบหนึ่งของโทรศัพท์เคลื่อนที่ยุดที่สาม (Third Generation Mobile Phone System) รายงานนี้นำเสนอถึงพื้นฐานระบบ WCDMA และความสำคัญของงานวิจัยทีมีผลกระทบต่อการแก้ไขปัญหาของระบบ โดยเป้าหมายหลักของงานวิจัยนี้ ก็คือ อัลกอริธึมแบบปรับตัวได้ที่ให้ความเร็วเสูงในการปรับตัวเพื่อลู่เข้าหาคำตอบ (Fast convergence speed) การมีค่าอัตราส่วนสัญญาณต่อสัญญาณรบกวนและสัญญาณแทรกสอด (Signal to interference plus noise ration) ที่สูง และให้อัตราบิทผิดพลาด (bit error rate) ต่ำ เพื่อให้สามารถรองรับอัตราส่งผ่านข้อมูลด้วยความเร็วสูง 2 เมกะบิทต่อวินาทีโดยมีความต้องการพลังงานน้อย ผลงานวิจัยซึ่งได้รับการตีพิมพ์ จากทั้งในการประชุมวิชาการต่างประเทศและในประเทศและวารสารวิชาการนานาชาติ ได้แสดงการนำเสนอ อัลกอรอธึมเครื่องรับสัญญาณทั้งในแบบต้องการสัญญาณฝึก (Training-based) แบบไบลนด์ (Blind-based) และแบบ กึ่งไบลนด์ (semi-blind) โดยผลการเปรียบเทียบ สามารถชี้ให้เห็นถึงประสิทธิภาพของเครื่องรับแบบที่นำเสนอ ที่ดีกว่าเครื่องรับต่างๆ ทั้งแบบประกอบด้วยเงื่อนไข (conditional) และแบบไม่มีเงื่อนไข (unconditional) โดยมีการยืยยันในทางทฤษฎี ด้วยการวิเคราะห์ประสิทธิภาพ (Performance Analysis ) ในรายงานมีการสรุปผลการทำงานรวมถึงการแนะนำถึงทิศทางที่เป็นไปได้สำหรับการขยายผลการวิจัยสำหรับระบบโทรศํท์เคลื่อนที่ยุดต่อไป In the reseach project, the design methodology of adaptive algorithms for effidcient wideband codw division multiple (WCDMA) receivers was structurally investigated. WCDMA is a standardized air interface for the emerging third generation mobile phone systems. With a demanding 2 Megabits per second transferring data rate given energy consumption concerns, the need to develop low-complexity, high-performance with robustness to changing environment receivers at moblie handset became extremely crucial. The report reveals the two-year investigation process and an can be structued as follows. The introduction of the system is described first and followed by inherent problems in which the research project has an impact with are raised. In summary, the main objective of the project was to establish adaptive algorithms for WCDMA receivers that are first in convergance speed, high signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) and gives low bit error rate (BER) while maintaining low computational complexity. The output results of the project are included in the proceedings of international abd domestic conferences and an international journal. These results are essentially the algorithmic designs of non blind, bilnd and semi-blind adaptive receivers. The performance comparison test reveal the superiority of the proposed receivers as compared to the existing well-known receivers presented in the literature. These receivers are either conditionally or unconditionally superior to the exiting receivers whereby the superiority is confirmed by means of mathematical performance analyses. Guideline for future work and for feasible projects for next generation mobile phine system are also included.
