บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย :

This paper examines the state of sand dunes of a developed coast by taking the tourist beach of Miramar (Goa), India as an example. Human actions are responsible for the degradation and elimination of these geomorphic features. The associated impacts are observed in the form of wind-blown loss of beach sand. Fixing of 1 m high sand fences, made of wooden strips, that can provoke prevailing winds to deposit their sand content is recommended as a remedial measure to: (1) curtail loss of beach sand, and (2) create new sand dunes. Restoration degraded sand dunes should be an integral part of any beach management strategy.
