| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | Introduction: The anteriortranslationofhumeralhead(ATHH) inglenoidcavityisoneof the commonlyevaluatedmeasurestodiagnoseglenohumeraljoint(GHJ)disorders.Itisnot clear thatlimbdominanceandgenderaffecttheATHHinglenoidcavity.Anunderstanding on sucheffectsisimportantforclinicianstoevaluateshoulderdisorders. Aim: This studycomparestheATHHbetweengenderandlimbdominanceamonghealthy individuals. Material andmethods: A totalof20participants(12femalesand8males) withmean±SD of 34±5.4 yearsofageparticipatedinthisstudy. Alloftheparticipantsreportednoshoulder pain, shoulderinjuryoverthepasttwoyears, andhadfullrangeofshouldermovementsat the timeoftesting. Participantswithahistoryofshouldersurgeryandthoseinvolvedin any formsofoverheadsportswereexcluded.Areal-timeultrasonographywasusedto measure theATHHinGHJduringaforceof80NappliedtoGHJ.Independentsample t-test and pairedsample t-test wereusedtoanalyzethedifferencesinATHHbetweenlimb dominance andgender. Results anddiscussion: The mean±SD ofATHHwas0.16±0.08 cmand0.13±0.08 cmin dominant andnon-dominantshoulder,respectively. Therewasnostatisticallysignificant difference inATHH(t19=1.52, p=.14,95%CI -0.01to0.07)betweendominantandnon- dominant shoulders.Therewasnosignificant differenceinATHHbetweenmaleandfemale participants(t18=1.90, p=.97,95%CI -0.08to0.84). © 2013 Warmin'sko-Mazurska IzbaLekarskawOlsztynie. |
