| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | "The 'Water! Who needs it?' Conference was initiated in response to proposals to meet demand for irrigatin water by building two major dams on tributaries of the Fitzroy River. Central to the debate on water development is the discrimination between our needs for water, including those of the natural environment, and our wants. Wants for water are those demands which are not essential to survival; demands for the services water provides rather than for the water itself. We can make choices about whether we meet those demands or not, and how."--p. 1. |
