บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย :

Traditionally students are placed in mathematics bridging programs using personal interview or written assessment. A computer-based self-testing prototype has been designed for remote placement in UNILEARN Mathematics. This paper briefly outlines the design of the testing model framed by three disparate literatures -bridging students, pedagogy and technical concerns. Extensive evaluation of the prototype by students and experts confirms that it is a desirable tool for remote placement, and appears to reduce student anxiety, promote mathematical confidence and motivate learning. Research results demonstrate that computer-based testing can be designed to support bridging pedagogy and students in course placement.
