| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | Lanna Reni Gustianty "Study on the Growth and Production of Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) of Granola Variety Developed from Botanical Seed through Germination Test and Planting Arrangement on the Research Field". Under the supervision of T. Chairun Nisa B. (chair), and J.A. Napitupulu and Dartius (members). This research is intended to examine the influence of the media and distance of TPS seeds dissemination and the combination between the media and distance of TPS seed dissemination in the seed germinating area on the germination and growth of the potato seeds of Granola Variety and to find out the influence of the age of seeds when they are moved and the planting distance on the growth and production of the potato of Granola Variety in the research field. This research was conducted for 6 (six) month from May to October 2003 in Berastagi Agricultural Area which is located about 1.340 meters above sea level. The research done either in the seed germinating area or in the research field used the Split Plot Design (RPT) with 3 (three) repetitions. The RPT used in the seed germinating area consists of 2 (two) factors. The first factor as the main plot is planting media (M) comprising 4 (four) stages such as: M0 (soil: manure = 1 : 0), M1 (soil: manure = 1 : 0,5 kg/kg soil), M2 (soil : manure = 1 : 0,75 kg/kg soil), and M3 soil: manure = 1 : 1 kg/kg soil). The second factor as the sub-plot is the density of seed dissemination (K) which also consists of 4 (four) stages such as: K1 = 10 x 1,5 cm, K2 = 10 x 3,0 cm, K3 = 10 x 4,5 cm, and K4 = 10 x 6 cm. The RPT used in the research field consists of 2 (two) factors. The first factor as the main plot is the planting distance (J) which consists of 3 (three) stages such as: J1 = 70 cm x 25 cm, J2 = 70 cm x 30 cm and J3 = 70 cm x 35 cm. The second factor as the sub-plot is the age of seeds when they are moved (U) comprising 4 (four) stages such as: U1 = 21 days, U2 = 25 days, U3 = 29 days and U4 = 33 days. The data obtained from the research were analyzed through manner analysis followed with Duncan's Distance Test and Regression Analysis if the influence of the treatment is significant and very significant. The parameters observed in the seed germinating area were germination rate (% day), growth percentage (%), plant height (cm), number of leaf (piece), plant fresh weight (g), number and length of roots (cm). The parameters observed in the field research were plant height, number of leaves (pieces), leaf area (cm2), number of chlorophyll (grain/6 mm2), growth analysis (relative growth rate and net assimilation rate), tuber weight per plant (g), and per plot, number of tubers per plant and per plot are based on the classification of tuber. The result of this study shows that during seed germination in the seed germinating area, the administration of manure of 0,5 kg/kg soil (M1) increases the germination rate, growth percentage, plant height, number of leaf, plant fresh weight, number and length of roots. Optimum germination rate and growth percentage were obtained at the doses of 0,21 and 0,61 kg/kg soil respectively. The distance of seeds at the treatment of 10 x 1,5 cm (K1) increases the number of leaf, plant fresh weight, the number and length of roots, decrease plant height and tends to decrease the germination rate and growth percentage. manure and seed distance interacted to each other in influencing the height of plant, number of leaf, plant fresh weight, number and lenghth of roots, but they do not interact in influencing the germination rate and growth percentage. The result of growth and production in the research field shows that the planting distance of 70 x 30 cm (J2) increases leaf area, number of chlorophyll, ralative growth rate, weight of tuber per plot, number of tuber per plot and number of tuber with weight less than 5 g per plot. The age of seed when they were moved which was 33 days (U4) increase the growth and plant height, number of leaf, lear area, number of chlorophyll and tends to increase the number of tuber per plant and per plot, number of tuber per plant with weight of > 80 g, 41-59 g ang 5-19 g. planting distance and the age of seed when they were moved significantly interacted on the number of leaf, leaf area, number or chlorophyll, number of tuber per plant with weight of 5-19 g. |
