| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | Xylan was first modified with maleic anhydride and then blended with PVA. The precursor, xylan-maleic was prepared by reacting xylan with maleic anhydride under an acidic condition. A ring opening of maleic anhydride occurred, yielding an ester linkage between xylan and maleic anhydride, as verified by 13C NMR. The effects of reaction temperature and weight ratio of xylan to maleic anhydride on esterification were examined. The blends of xylan-maleic with PVA generated crosslinked xylan-maleic/PVA gels at high temperature. Swelling behavior of the gels were studied, and strength of the gels were also investigated using a rheometer. |
