This research was to survey students expectation on ethical values of 3 groups of adults : parents, teachers and genernal adults. The research samples were 653 secondary school students drawn from The Demonstation School of Ramkhamhaeng University, in academic year 1994. The samples were classified into groups according to sex, level, learning program and learning achievement. The data collection was done 2 rounds. For the first round, each of the students was asked to write down 5 ethical values he expected from each group of adults. The answers were analysed through a frequency distribution. 35 - 40 items which highest frequencies of each case were used to constructing a set of rating-scale questionnaires and being a tool for data collecting in the second round. Arithmetic mean and simple correlation were computed in data analysis. The findings were as follows :- 1. Expected Values of Parents. Opinions of all groups of the students were unanimous (the correlations were highly significant). Expected values of the parents which in a highest level were 13 in number. These included : rational judgement, love and care to ones family, being responsible for their children, not deserting the family, fairness, obstain from ways of ruin, being good conducts, being good consultants, having time for their children, good leadership, emotional control, having altruistic joy, and to understand their children. 2. Expected Values of Teachers. Expected values of teachers which in a highest level were 15. These included : being good conducts, fairness, responsiveness, neutral of mind, forgiveness, keep away from wrong conducts, being good consultants, care of their students, being good in dissemination, sense of acceptance, intelligent, honesty, clearing of explanation, endurance, and politeness. 3. Expected Values of General Adults. There were 14 characteristics ranked in a high level. These were : love and care to ones family, rational judgement, responsiveness, obstain from ways of ruin, fairness, open-mindedness, good behave, honesty, sense of sympathy, good consultants, devoting to ones duty, gradtitude, emotional controlling, and leadership. 4. Ethical Values in Conclustion. In conclusion, the ethical values of all the 3 groups of adults, as expected by the students, could be classified into 3 components : reasonable, responsiveness, and good conducts.
