บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย :

The objectives of this study are to investigate the leadership styles of nursing college administration in Bangkok, according to the opinions of nursing personnel as well as to investigate the preferred leadership style. Finally, it is to examine how position, sex, age, number of working years and qualification are related to the preference on leadership styles. The subjects consisted of 77 members of Kuakarun College of Nursing and 29 members of St. Louis Nursing College. The findings are as follow: 1. The leadership style of the top administration in the public nursing college, according to the opinion of nursing personnel, was the Autocratic Style. 2. The leadership style of the middle administration in the public nursing college, according to the opinion of nursing personnel, was the Consultative Style. 3. The leadership style of the top administration in the private nursing college, according to the opinion of nursing personnel, was the Autocratic and Consultative Style. 4. The leadership style of the middle administration in the private nursing college, according to the opinion of nursing personnel, was the Participative Style. 5. The preferred leadership style of nursing personnel from both public and private nursing colleges, was the Participative Style. 6. There was no significant relationship among the position, range of age, number of working years and qualifications and the preferred leadership style. According to the research finding, the administrators and their personnel should have more time to communicate in order to better understand each other. Administrators must be able to identify clues in an environment and be able to adapt their leadership styles to meet the demands of their environment by considering more participation.
