Health education is very important and necessary to be developed in hospital because health education can help the patient develop correct health behavior and comply doctors treatment. Nurses as the health personnel who work closely for the patients can provide advice and knowledge regarding the health education for the patient. In this connection, the success of health education development neccessarily required nurses cooperation and participation. The objective of this study was to examine the effectiveness of participatory development process on health education development in postpartum ward, Nopparat Rajathanee General Hospital. The performance development among 22 nurses as well as satisfaction with participation in pupera health education service were assessed. The 60 case of pupera were purposively selected as the study samples attending health education programme conducted by those nurses. The interview technique with questionnaire and record form were employed for data collection. Percentage, mean, Paired samples t-test, Students t-test, and Chi-square test were used for data analysis. The level of significant .05 is accepted for this study. The research results could be summerized as fallows: After the experiment, the performance on self development and mutual development of nurses were not significant whare as team work and participation, job satisfaction and efficiency of health education practice were significantly more improved than prior to the study. Pupera were more satisfied with participated in health education programme than before study. Health education activities in postpartum ward were continully lounched by nurses. Nurses had participated in needs assessment and conducted health education programme. The result of this study demonstrated that the participatory development process can be use on health education development, health personnel development and the puperas satisfaction and participation in health education service. Thus, the participatory development process should be considered to implement as management method particularly in Hospital and others organization level.
