The study on factors affecting health card programme acceptance in Ratchaburi Province of Thailand was conducted during April to May in 1993. The main objective of this study was to asses the socio-economic and geographic factors affecting the acceptance of health card. The 300 heads of household in the three sub-districts within Maung District were interviewed about general information, occupation, education attainment, income, knowledge, attitude and accessibility and availability of health service. study showed that the factors such as income, knowledge on health card, attitude, occupation, distance to health center and available transport had significant relationships with the acceptance of health card. No statistical relationship was seen among the factors as education, family size and mode of transportation. The result of this study can provide necessary information for the health planners and decision makers to improve the programme and strategies to suit the situation on the need of community.
