The objective of this thesis was to study the existence of the participation in environmental quality development around tourist areas. The variables specified for the study were level of education, domicile, living period and comprehensiveness of natural resources and environment. Population under the study were 151 persons owners around tourist areas on Koh Samui. The research findings were as follows. Most of the owners had taken participation in environmental quality development by keeping the beach clean. Forms of participation were whose of suggestion, donation and labours service. And about 91.4 % of them had comprehensiveness of natural resource and Environment. Upon analysing the relation of social factors and population with participation in environmental quality, it was found that the educational level was related with the participation in the opposite direction, namely, whose with low education took more participate than whose with high educational level, some other factors associated were found to be age, life experience and domicile. Living period family background and comprehensiveness were not related with the above participation.
