This independent study aims to construct and employ the Teaching Packages to improve Thai word reading and writing skills of Prathom Suksa 2 Pga K’nyau students and to study those students’ Thai word reading and writing skills. The target group was 18 Prathom Suksa 2 Pga K’nyau students, enrolled in the second semester of 2014 academic year, at Baan Mae Lai Nue school, Bo Luang sub-district, Hot district, Chiang Mai province. The instruments used included 2 instructional packages and 25 items of multiple choice test. Data were analyzed through computing percentage and mean of pre-test and post-test scores, and compared the progressive scores with the set criteria of 25 %. The findings revealed that : 1) The two constructed instructional packages were packages on Changeable-form Vowels which consumed 12 teaching hours, and Inherent Vowels which consumed 12 teaching hours. 2) The difference of percentage mean scores between pre-test and post-test was 47.55% which was higer than the set score of 25%. So was each student’s score.
