| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | Mice were infected with Haplorchis taichui metacercariae and treated intragastrically with 250 or 40 mg/kg niclosamide, 10 or 12 mg/kg mebendazole (the latter dose given as 6 treatments of 2 mg/kg at 12-hour intervals), or 250 or 8 mg/kg albendazole. They were necropsied 2 days after drug administration and examined for worms. Those treated with niclosamide had eliminated all worms (P<0.008). Those treated with repeated small doses of mebendazole had significantly fewer worms than controls (P<0.008). Albendazole, or the single dose of mebendazole, had no effect. Clinical studies of the use of niclosamide against H. taichui in humans are recommended. |
