| บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย | : | This study examined internal barriers to home Internet adoption by analysing the perceptions and social influences on the decision for non-adoption across 2000-2003. It was motivated in order to develop practical approaches to reduce the gap in home adoption of Internet technologies between regional Central Queensland and the rest of Australia. Five reasons were found to be interrelated and contribute to non-adoption: "reduces community values", ''not useful", "would use a public access point", "not comfortable with the technology", and "lack of keyboard skills". Practical training, adult education, and public promotion are suggested as strategies to address these issues. |
