Nowadays, The capability of Thai manufacturers, in desing and construction of commercial induction motor controller, has been developed a certain level of satisfaction. Evidence can be seen in advertisement in local magazines for the range of 1-22 kw. The techbology used in the advertised product is mostly openloop V/F control. Microprocessors have been employed in some models bu only in PWM pattern generation, display and basic functions Special functions are still lacking. This makes thelocal product less competitive in comparision eith the imported products. This project is aiming for the develometn of a digital induction motor controller. Microprocessor will be used extensively in signal processing and special function operation. Brief technical specifications are as follow: adjustable frequency range from 1-120 Hz with the resolution of 0.01 Hz, input parameters can be fed by keypad, digital display fro input variablesand control parameters, special functions; such as automatic silip compensation, automatic accelertion and deceleration control, automatic restart after instantanous power failure are included. The system will be devloped with the concern of reliability, cost effectiveness, robustness, user friendly and as prototype for local production.
