The study on terrain and land use of Bangkok metropolitan and its surrounding from satellite image, SPOT false colour composite, scale 1:100,000 in order to make classified land use. The result of this study showed that the satellite image covered area of 3,844.80 sq. km. can be classified land use as follows: city, town and commercial land 102.40 sq. km. (2.663%), village 110.36 sq. km. (2.870%), industrial land 12.28 sq. km. (0.319%), transportation land 73.40 sq. km. (1.909%), industrial land 29.32 sq. km. (0.762%), others 0.76 sq. km. (0.019%), paddy field 694.84 sq. km. (18.072%), field crops 69.32 sq. km. (1.803%), perrenial crops 10.07 sq. km. (0.262%), orchards 640.95 sq. km. (16.670%), horticulture 259.96 sq. km. (6.761%), animal farm houses 2.52 sq. km. (0.065%), fishery 170.56 sq. km. (4.436%), mangrove forest and others 217.64 sq. km. (5.660%), river and canals 84.68 sq. km. (2.202%), sea 928.94 sq. km. (24.161%), and others land 348.00 sq. km. (9.051%).
